Farrideh Oladqaba said on Tuesday at a press conference that 1,049 of the dead from the 12-day war have also been identified.

Less than two weeks ago, the head of Iran’s Forensic Medicine Organization had announced the number of fatalities in the 40-day war as 3,519.

Abbas Masjed Arani had said that these figures do not include people who were killed in attacks after the Iran-U.S. understanding, mainly in southern Iran.

The 40-day war refers to the first 40 days of the war that began on 9 Esfand 1404 with simultaneous attacks by the United States and Israel on Iran.
