After the reaction of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini’s family to the insult by Ahmad Arayiyanazad, a representative of Malayer, to their daughter, Mr. Arayiyanazad published an apology video.

During a debate on Hamshahri Online, Mr. Arayiyanazad used the phrase “to be summoned to the Hereafter” to refer to the death of Mahsa (Zhina) Amini, and described the protests following her death as “eight months of unrest.” The use of this phrase drew a response from Mahsa Amini’s family.

In joint stories on social media, Mahsa Amini’s father and mother called the statements by this member of parliament insulting and said such remarks do not diminish the value and status of their daughter.

In part of their message, they wrote in response to this phrase: “You have sent a country to the Hereafter… and not a speck of shame has been bestowed upon you.” They also, referring to the killing of their daughter in Shahrivar 1401 and the widespread protests that followed, said that “Zhina’s name will remain in the history of Iran.”

Amjad Amini, Mahsa’s father, wrote in part of his message: “Our daughter’s name, alongside thousands of other innocent people, will remain forever in the history of this country.”
