Amir Heydari, a national security expert, said that by pointing to the continuation of the naval blockade and the economic pressure of the United States on the Islamic Republic, Washington is pursuing two paths at the same time: increasing the costs of continuing confrontation for the Islamic Republic and keeping the route to negotiations open.

He added that from Donald Trump’s recent statements, it cannot be concluded that a final decision has been made to end the war, and the future of the confrontation depends on factors including the situation in the Strait of Hormuz, regional attacks, and the possibility of returning to negotiations.
