👈 Baghaei: Final decision on Caspian Sea document was delegated to the parliament / accession will be made solely based on national interests

Spokesperson of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs: Decisions regarding the approval and accession to international documents are carried out exclusively based on national interests and considerations, and linking them to external developments is not justified.

The international Caspian Sea document (including the 5 littoral countries), which was signed in 2018, after several years of comprehensive review in the competent institutions, has been sent to the Islamic Consultative Assembly for review and decision-making.

Entry into force of this document requires the approval and accession of all five littoral countries; therefore, the inclination of the other four countries to speed up the process of its implementation is natural.
