🔶 CENTCOM commander: the USS Abraham Lincoln has the lowest rate of mental health issues among the crew

Brad Cooper, the CENTCOM commander, in a statement about his recent visit to the aircraft carrier USS Abraham Lincoln, called it “amazing and inspiring” and praised the carrier’s crew for their “resilience and team solidarity.”

Cooper had visited the carrier during his 10-day trip to the Middle East. Previously, various reports had been published about “multiple problems” related to the crew’s mental health and the worsening living conditions aboard the carrier.

In his statement, which was published by the command on X on Sunday, August 16 (25 Mordad), the CENTCOM commander said that the USS Abraham Lincoln aircraft carrier, among the U.S. Navy’s 11 active aircraft carriers, has “the lowest figures for issues related to the crew’s mental health.”

He also clarified that this does not mean conditions are flawless, and that long-term service at sea is not suitable for everyone. Cooper, pointing to how “difficult and exhausting” these conditions are, added that each person, including himself, reacts differently to pressures.
