Egypt’s Foreign Ministry condemned Israeli airstrikes on the Abu al-Zuhur military airport and described them as “an outright violation of Syria’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, and a clear breach of international law and the United Nations Charter.”
In a statement, the ministry said the Israeli strikes are “a dangerously escalatory move that threatens regional security and stability.”
Egypt stressed that it “completely rejects” Israel’s continued violation of Syrian territory, warning that such attacks carry the risk of further destabilizing Syria at a time when the country needs support to restore stability and pursue political solutions.
Cairo called on the international community to “assume its responsibilities,” and, by ending Israel’s repeated violations and adopting a firm policy, to prevent actions that feed the cycle of escalation of tensions in the region.
