Hamas said it is committed to reaching a ceasefire agreement in Gaza and accused Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu of undermining the talks.
In a statement released after the Israeli attack on Gaza City, the group called it “a deliberate escalation of the situation” and said Netanyahu is intentionally derailing regional and international efforts to advance a peace plan by Donald Trump, the U.S. president.
The statement said: “The timing of this crime, after the recent negotiations in Cairo and the ongoing mediation efforts, leaves no doubt about Netanyahu’s intent to sabotage the negotiations.”
