Eight Israeli airstrikes early Tuesday targeted the Abu al-Zuhur military base in northwestern Syria and hit the airport runway and storage facilities.

The Syrian state news network Al-Ikhbariyah reported this, quoting a military source, and said the strikes caused no casualties.

The Israeli army declined to comment on the strikes, and Syria’s defense ministry did not respond.

Located about 70 kilometers from the Turkish border, the base has been out of service since 2013 as a dedicated military airport and has changed hands several times during Syria’s 14-year civil war between forces loyal to Bashar al-Assad and opposition groups.
