🔻Extensive search operation launched to find crew of capsized ship in the Bay of Bengal
After a cargo ship carrying iron ore sank in the Bay of Bengal, extensive operations have been launched to search for and rescue its crew.
The ship, which was sailing from India to Singapore, sank on Saturday at a distance of about 240 nautical miles (444 kilometers) from the shores of Odisha in eastern India.
At the time of the incident, there were 24 crew members on board, and reports indicate that so far only two people have been rescued.
The Indian Coast Guard and the Navy are leading the search operations to find survivors, and a number of commercial vessels present in the area are also participating in the operation.
