Figures show that from the beginning of 2026 until mid-July, the number of migrants arriving by small boats to the UK has decreased by 43% compared with the same period the previous year. However, a recent report by The Guardian says this decline does not mean the crisis is over; because asylum applications have fallen by only 12%.
