🔻Following the disastrous elimination of the Under-23 team from the 2026 Asian Games in Nagoya, the Football Federation apologized in an official statement.

🔹In a part of this statement, emphasizing taking responsibility and the need to make courageous decisions, it said: «After the Under-23 team’s win against the UAE and a draw with China, it was unable to deliver the expected performance in the crucial final match, and the Football Federation, alongside the team’s members, accepted this result without any justification and apologizes to those who are interested in the team. Now is the time for honest, precise, and thorough review and to make courageous decisions.»

🔹The Federation also, referring to the facilities provided and the unjustifiability of this defeat, wrote: «This technical staff and the players, from the time the national youth team was formed—which went on to the World Cup—have, in recent years, had numerous and repeated training camps. Despite the resources and constraints, even for participation in these competitions, both foreign and domestic camps were set up for the team’s preparation; accordingly, the team’s performance in today’s match is in no way justifiable.»
