🔻Guterres: Calls for an end to nuclear tests

🔻Antonio Guterres, the UN Secretary-General, called for an end to nuclear tests.

In a message on the social network X, he wrote: “Nuclear tests destroy trust, fuel a nuclear arms race, and betray communities that continue to live with the consequences of past nuclear tests.”

Mr. Guterres, in his message, urged all countries possessing nuclear weapons to adhere to existing moratoriums on nuclear testing and “to implement the Comprehensive Nuclear-Test-Ban Treaty.”

The UN Secretary-General also said: “Let us once again reaffirm our commitment to ending nuclear tests.”
