🔶 Houthi drone attack on one of Aramco’s refineries

The news agency “Saba,” which is close to the Houthis, reported on Tuesday, August 18 (27 Mordad) that Houthi militias carried out a drone attack targeting an Aramco oil refinery in Jizan, Saudi Arabia.

A Houthi military source said the attacks were carried out in response to the “violation of airspace over the provinces of Saada and Hajjah” in Yemen.

Yahya Sarea, the Houthi military spokesman, had announced on Monday, August 17, in a message published on the Telegram network that the group attacked “a Saudi warship and its four escort vessels” in the Red Sea with missiles. The attack on Saudi vessels took place near the port of Mocha.

The port of Mocha is on the Red Sea coast and near the Bab al-Mandab Strait. This strategic passage connects the Red Sea to the Gulf of Aden and is considered one of the important shipping routes for international maritime traffic.
