🔶Ukraine’s unprecedented attack on Moscow; Russia threatened Britain

The metropolitan city of Moscow and the area surrounding the Russian capital were targeted last night by a wave of Ukrainian drone attacks. According to the state-run TASS news agency, this was the most severe attack of this kind in the past two years.

According to Sergei Sobyanin, the mayor of Moscow, from late Monday evening until early today Tuesday, August 18 (27 Mordad), 620 drones took off toward the region of Russia’s capital.

According to Sobyanin, Russian air defenses intercepted most of the drones before they reached the area, and another 180 drones were also shot down in the Moscow region.

Andrei Vorobyov, the governor of the Moscow region, announced that three people, including a 10-year-old girl, were injured in these attacks. Among the targets hit was a warehouse belonging to the online store Wildberries.

Wildberries is often called “Russia’s Amazon” because of the wide variety of products it offers and its distribution network.

Ukraine accuses this online store of playing a role in the transport and warehousing of weapons for the Russian armed forces. For this reason, Ukrainian forces over the past few weeks have repeatedly targeted warehouses and other buildings related to Wildberries in Russia.

According to reports, the fire at the location of this online store has now been brought under control. The company said that impact from parts and debris resulting from the drone attack caused minor damage to a wall. Flights were also temporarily restricted at Moscow airports. Vorobyov also said that residential homes, shops, and a power plant were damaged.
