If it weren’t for the Islamic Republic, with Iran’s share (at least 20%) in the Caspian Sea seabed, we would have reached enormous wealth:

Vast energy reserves: exclusive access to 48 billion barrels of oil and 292 trillion cubic feet of gas in the world’s third-largest oil and gas basin.

Extraction from superfields: extracting hundreds of billions of dollars’ worth of gas from the Chaloos field (equivalent to one-quarter of South Pars) and the Sardar Jungle field.

Gas transit revenues: earning billions of dollars annually in transit fees because energy pipeline routes from neighboring countries pass through the ground or territory of Iran toward Europe.

Solving the domestic crisis: ensuring stable energy supply to the northern provinces and ending winter gas cutoffs without needing imports.

Fisheries and caviar trade: preserving the monopoly on exporting the world’s most expensive caviar by registering a broader fishing area.
