🔸Iranian news agencies on Monday evening, 23 Shahrivar, by publishing an IRGC statement, announced the name of this supertanker as “Al Gaya” and its navigation number as “9325336,” adding that “efforts to contain the fire were futile and the entire tanker became trapped in flames.”

🔸The Navy of the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps, by announcing “the dangerous nature” of the southern route of the Strait of Hormuz, has claimed that the strait is “blocked and still under our intelligent control.”

🔸The U.S. Central Command (CENTCOM) has called this claim “false” and said that the “Al Gaya” tanker, which was sailing under the flag of Panama, was targeted by an Iranian missile last month and became inoperable.

🔸According to CENTCOM, last week, while the ship was anchored in coastal waters of Oman, Iran attacked it again with a drone.
