🔻Iranian media, by publishing a letter to terminate Yaser Aasani’s contract with Esteghlal that is dated July 14, 2026, one month before the start of the Persian Gulf Pro League, have reported on the possibility that the “star” Albanian player’s appearance for the blue-clad team is illegal. Last night, Mes Shahrbabak Club filed a complaint with the Football Federation regarding Aasani playing.
🔹According to Khabarvarzeshi, this letter—whose contents are that of an email to Esteghlal—was published “by Yaser Aasani’s agent and due to financial disputes, for Esteghlal.”
🔹In the letter, by referring to “the failure of financial obligations by Esteghlal” and “along with the rapid worsening of the security situation in Iran following recent attacks by U.S. forces,” it states that “the player hereby terminates his employment contract with immediate effect and in accordance with Article 14 bis of FIFA Regulations on the Status and Transfer of Players.”
🔹Meanwhile, Ali Tajer-Nia, the chairman of Esteghlal’s board of directors, said about it last night: “It may be possible that a woman tells her husband verbally, ‘I divorced you,’ but the official divorce may not have taken place. The issue of Yaser Aasani is exactly of the same kind.”
