🔻Iranian police have announced that it has detained one of the suspects in the so-called “Trusty” case.

Iranian news agencies on Saturday, citing the information center of Iranian police, wrote: “A person who is considered one of the heads of the ‘Trusty’ network was arrested by police after years on the run, with a debt of 300 million euros.”

Iranian media use the term “Trusty” for cases that relate to economic accusations against people who are usually considered “trusted by the system”—that is, a person whom the government has “trusted,” and who, relying on this official support, would move money or financial resources associated with Iran under his own name so that the direct link to the government and Iranian state institutions is not apparent and so that it is not covered by sanctions.
