Ismail Baghaei, the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic, announced at his Monday 26 Mordad news briefing that in the Islamabad agreement there is “no such thing as a 60-day deadline.”

Baghaei said: “The Islamic Republic does not make decisions with items such as ultimatums and set deadlines, and it was supposed that within 60 days we would negotiate on matters such as the nuclear file. But given the violation of the agreement by the United States, the 60-day discussion is no longer relevant.”

The Foreign Ministry spokesperson added: “Due to the serious and widespread violation of the memorandum of understanding of 28 Khordad by the United States,” no talks were initiated only a few weeks after its signing, and as a result, the 60-day deadline discussion completely lost its relevance.”
