Hosein Ghazeyan, a sociologist, pointing to the growing gap between new generations and the government, told Iran International that the divide between society and the rulers has deepened over the past two decades.

He believes that, in order to control a society that can no longer be socially controlled, the government resorts to tools such as street crackdowns, executions, and limiting education and educational activities.
