Ismail Baghai, the spokesperson of the Foreign Ministry of the Islamic Republic, announced in his press conference that reopening the Strait of Hormuz is “conditional on the lifting of the U.S. maritime blockade.”

He also added that opening the Strait of Hormuz “depends on the cessation of the unlawful and destructive actions of the United States and on making up for them.”

The foreign ministry spokesperson of the Islamic Republic said: “At this stage of the negotiations with Oman regarding the Strait of Hormuz, there has been no discussion about receiving tolls, but naturally, when services are provided at sea, the costs for them must also be collected.”

Baghai also said: “Regarding the navigation map in the Strait of Hormuz, an agreement has been reached in the negotiations with Oman, and regarding the joint statement, there are still some technical points that are being discussed, but the negotiations are being carried out smoothly and constructively.”

He added that the maritime blockade is “a continuation of the violation of the Islamic Republic.”
