The Yemeni army announced that the Houthis’ missile and drone attack on the port city of Mokha on the Red Sea coast left at least seven dead and 30 injured. Military personnel and civilians are among the victims of the attack.

According to Reuters, in a statement early Monday, 19 Mordad, Yemen’s army said four members of the armed forces and three civilians were killed. The army said the Houthis’ attacks targeted not only military positions, but also civilian infrastructure and residential neighborhoods in Mokha.

The Yemeni army also said that its air defense systems intercepted and shot down 11 Houthi drones that participated in the operation.

Al Masirah TV, affiliated with the Houthis, aired images showing the launch of several ballistic missiles and drones. Yahya Saree, the Houthi military spokesman, said the targets of these attacks were sites where Saudi forces were gathered and arms depots.

In its report, Reuters did not mention any reaction from Saudi Arabia or independent confirmation of the Houthis’ claimed targets. The port of Mokha is located on the Red Sea coast; an area where concerns about the safety of civilians and maritime routes have increased as the Houthis’ attacks continue.
