Israel Hayom, in an analytical report, wrote that six months after the start of the war, American and Israeli attacks have inflicted heavy damage on the Islamic Republic of Iran’s military capability, but they have not led to the overthrow of the government or the creation of a rift in the structure of power.

According to this outlet, the Islamic Republic has restored part of its missile capability, attacked U.S. bases and Washington’s allies, and affected traffic through the Strait of Hormuz. Sanam Vakil, director of the Middle East and North Africa program at Chatham House, said that the war has been unable to achieve America’s objectives.

Israel Hayom wrote that the government of Donald Trump is now trying to isolate the Islamic Republic with “economic expulsion operations,” but analysts have doubts about the possibility of forcing Tehran to capitulate through sanctions.

This outlet also said that Washington’s final goal is unclear, and wrote that it is not known whether the U.S. is seeking the overthrow of the Islamic Republic, the reopening of the Strait of Hormuz, or bringing Tehran back to negotiations.

Israel Hayom described the current situation as a “deadlock” and wrote that the failure of economic pressure could bring the United States back to intensifying military efforts, and that its success could also push the Islamic Republic toward escalating tensions in order to break the naval blockade.
