The U.S. Treasury Department revoked access for the Egypt Bank branch in the UAE to U.S. financial institutions. The department said the Egypt Bank branch in the UAE has been one of the main routes for the Islamic Republic of Iran’s access to dollars, and some of its customers are front companies used by the Ministry of Defense of the Islamic Republic and the Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.
