JD Vance, the U.S. vice president, said that U.S. attacks destroyed three Islamic Republic nuclear facilities, and that Washington’s goal now is to prevent the rebuilding of Tehran’s nuclear program.

Vance, in an interview with Newsmax, said the Islamic Republic is currently unable to build a nuclear weapon within six months or one year. He added that Donald Trump, the U.S. president, wants to ensure that Tehran does not have the resources and infrastructure needed to rebuild its nuclear program and build a weapon in the coming years.

Vance also blamed the Islamic Republic for the rise in fuel prices in the United States, and said: “Iranians continue to fire missiles and drones toward commercial vessels.”

He added that the U.S. government will work to keep the flow of oil and gas going and will respond to actions by the Islamic Republic against international shipping.

Vance said attacks on commercial ships are the reason behind the increase in fuel prices, and emphasized: “The reason for this situation is that Iranians have frightened international shipping.”
