Foreign ministers of the G7 said in a statement: “Iran’s reprehensible actions show a dangerous pattern of escalation in tension and carry the risk of further escalation of fighting.”

According to Reuters, the statement asked Tehran to “stop the arming and support of the Houthis, which violates UN Security Council resolutions.”

The foreign ministers of Britain, Canada, France, Germany, Italy, Japan, and the United States, in a statement issued after a meeting on the sidelines of the United Nations General Assembly in New York, warned that the actions of the Iranian government are accompanied by undermining international trade and creating economic instability in the world.

In their statement, they emphasized that the situation in Yemen is “an unacceptable threat to regional stability and security, as well as to the security of the global energy supply,” and added: “We condemn in the strongest terms the unacceptable and ongoing Houthi attacks in Yemen and against Saudi Arabia.”

The statement also called on the Houthis to “immediately halt all military actions, threats, and attacks against civilian shipping.”
