🔻Lionel Messi, the Argentine legend, minutes ago announced that he will say goodbye to the national team: «After some time has passed since the final and after thinking a lot, I want to tell everyone that I am saying goodbye to the Argentina national team. This decision hurt my heart and it is still painful, but I know that the time has come.»

🔹On his Instagram page, he wrote with handwritings from his farewell note: These words were written two days after the final. Today, after what happened to my father, I am more certain than ever of my decision.

🔹In a part of these handwritten notes, it says: After some time has passed since the final and after thinking a lot, I want to tell everyone that I am saying goodbye to the national team...

🔹This was a decision that hurt my heart and it is still painful, but I know that the time has come. I swear that I always gave everything I had; not only in recent years when we took everything, but before that as well, I always fought and gave everything for this shirt; so that I could make you happy and so that, through football, you could feel proud of being Argentine.
