The proposal, backed by Demis Hassabis, CEO of Google DeepMind, and senior White House officials, aims to establish an independent institution in the style of FINRA to test advanced AI models for risks before they are deployed. In the August call initiated by Trump, Zuckerberg argued that any appointed regulatory body should align with Trump’s light-touch approach to AI regulation.
