Masoud Pezeshkian, head of the government of the Islamic Republic, said Thursday in an interview with Fox News that the Islamic Republic is not seeking war, but will respond “decisively” if attacks on Iran continue.

Pezeshkian said: “We are not looking for war. Whenever they attack us, we are forced to defend ourselves. We never started a war, but if they want to continue waging war against us, we will respond decisively.”

He also said about negotiations with the United States that what the Islamic Republic is negotiating over is, within the framework of international laws, the country’s right, and that Tehran is seeking to reach an agreement.

In response to a question about the delivery of 60% enriched uranium, Pezeshkian said: “Within the framework of the international agreement and based on the Nuclear Non-Proliferation Treaty, whatever we are supposed to do, we do.” He also said that the Islamic Republic has never sought a nuclear weapon.

The head of the government of the Islamic Republic, about the Houthis, said that they are responsible for their own actions and do not receive a direct order from Tehran. He added that the Islamic Republic has ties with the Houthis, but this relationship is not “systematic.”
