Matteo Salvini, Italy’s deputy prime minister, said that as long as Germany’s aid ships continue to transfer migrants to Italian ports, Rome will not take back illegal immigrants deported from Germany.

According to reports, over the past year Italy has rejected about 80,000 requests from European countries to take back refugees due to capacity limits being filled.
