Messages received by Iran International indicate the return of morality patrols to the streets of a number of Iranian cities, including Isfahan, in the run-up to the fourth anniversary of the government murder of Mahsa Zhina Amini. In Rasht and Mashhad as well, the presence of hijab enforcers has increased.

Citizens reported that in different areas of Isfahan, vans and buses of the morality patrol have been set up, and they take women without mandatory hijab with them.

In Mashhad too, on the evening of 22 Shahrivar, armed forces entered Mellat Park and gave women warnings about hijab.

Several citizens said that in Rasht, harsh encounters regarding mandatory hijab have intensified.

In this regard, a citizen reported: “A few nights ago in Rasht Municipality, they detained a young man because he was wearing shorts, and the morality patrol forced him to buy and put on pants right there.”
