Nawaf Salam, Lebanon’s Prime Minister, in a meeting with Michele Issa, the U.S. ambassador, and General Joseph Keelerfield, head of the Military Coordination Group for Lebanon, called for setting a timeline for the withdrawal of Israeli forces.

According to Lebanon’s National News Agency, the meeting took place on Friday, 23 Mordad, during which the military track of the Beirut–Tel Aviv negotiations framework and developments on the ground in southern Lebanon were discussed.

In the meeting, Salam emphasized the need to halt destruction operations, expand the scope of the test areas, and establish a clear timetable for Israel’s withdrawal from Lebanese territory.

The meeting was held as part of efforts to advance the military track of the peace negotiations between Israel and Lebanon with U.S. mediation.

So far, several rounds of peace talks between the parties, led by the United States, have been held.
