This U.S. Air Force colonel, whose identity has not been disclosed for security reasons, is identified by the call sign “Dude 44 Bravo” or “Bravo.”

He was an officer in the weapons systems and the rear cockpit airman of a two-seat F-15E Strike Eagle fighter.

In an interview with CBS’s program “60 Minutes,” Bravo said that the moment the missile hit the aircraft “was as devastating as hitting a freight train.”
