⚡Pakistan announced that it shot down eight drones that had entered this country’s airspace from Afghanistan on Wednesday.

Based on statements by Pakistan’s security sources, the drones’ target was public places, but no details were provided about damage or casualties.

The security sources described the action as a sign of the Taliban government’s support for armed groups against Pakistan. Kabul has repeatedly denied sheltering these groups.

The incident occurred after Pakistani forces on Tuesday night thwarted a group of armed militants’ attempt to enter from Afghanistan. According to security sources, after this failure, Taliban forces opened fire on Pakistan’s border outposts with heavy weapons and mortars, and Pakistani forces also targeted the Taliban’s border and defense positions.
