The director general of public relations of the Pakistan Army announced: Our commitment to the security of Saudi Arabia is unconditional, and we will go “as far as necessary” to defend this country.

General Ahmad Shafiq Choudri, in an interview with Arab News, pointing to the “Makkah Pact,” emphasized that Pakistan is fully standing alongside Saudi Arabia, both diplomatically and practically. For practical support for Saudi Arabia, we will also go as far as necessary.

He added: This commitment also includes protecting the two holy sites of the Islamic world in Mecca and Medina, and there is no doubt about that.

In recent days, the Iran-backed Houthis carried out attacks against economic and non-military infrastructure in Saudi Arabia, and even against the city of Mecca.

The three countries of Saudi Arabia, Pakistan, and Turkey, after military tensions in the region escalated, had signed the well-known defense pact called the “Makkah Pact.”
