🔺Pakistan: Asim Munir was not sent to Iran by the United States

◾The spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs described the claim that Field Marshal Asim Munir, the commander of this country’s army, traveled to Iran as a “U.S. envoy” as “misleading and incorrect.”

◾Tahir Andrabbi said on Thursday, the 5th of Shahrivar: “The talks held during the army commander’s trip to Tehran focused on reducing tensions in the region, breaking the military deadlock, and exploring a diplomatic solution to restore peace and stability.”

◾He added: “This trip was carried out only within the framework and in the context of Pakistan’s role as a mediator.”

◾During his one-day visit to Tehran, the commander of the Pakistan Army met with Iranian officials. Pakistan’s Interior Minister, Mohsin Naqvi, also accompanied him.
