🔸 Pakistan’s interior minister conveys a message from Sharif and Munir to Pezeshkian during trip to Tehran

Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that the trip of Mohsin Naqvi, Pakistan’s interior minister, to Iran was carried out with the aim of discussing regional security and current developments.

On Wednesday, August 12 (21 Mordad), the ministry’s spokesperson told reporters in Islamabad: “He [Naqvi] is holding talks with Iranian officials on bilateral relations, security, regional stability, constructive engagement among the parties in the region, as well as regional developments.”

According to reports, Mohsin Naqvi, who has previously played a role in mediation efforts between Iran and the United States, has close ties with Asim Munir, the commander of Pakistan’s army.

In the evening of Tuesday, the state news agency IRNA reported that Pakistan’s interior minister met and held talks with Masoud Pezeshkian, Abbas Araghchi and Eskandar Moemeni. IRNA wrote that Naqvi delivered a message from Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan’s prime minister, and Asim Munir to Pezeshkian, but it did not provide any details about the contents of that message.
