🔸 CENTCOM: An American helicopter fired at a ship that tried to break the blockade of Iran’s ports

The U.S. Central Command, CENTCOM, said that a U.S. Navy helicopter fired two Hellfire missiles to target and disable the engine room of a ship that intended to violate the maritime blockade of Iran. On Tuesday, August 11 (Mordad 20), CENTCOM said in a post on the X social network that the cargo ship “Wala Nova” with a Panamanian flag tried to violate the U.S. blockade by passing through the Strait of Oman and moving toward an Iranian port.

According to the report, after the civilian crew of the ship “ignored repeated warnings” from U.S. forces, an MH-60 helicopter fired two Hellfire missiles at its engine room, stopping the vessel.

CENTCOM emphasized that the U.S. maritime blockade against Iran “remains fully in effect.”

According to CENTCOM, as of Mordad 20, the U.S. military had diverted 55 commercial ships that tried to pass through the Iranian blockade. The report says that U.S. forces disabled three offending ships and also seized two ships.
