The Pte language test for Iran residents was canceled

The Pearson institute canceled all of its tests for Iran residents. This morning, it posted an announcement on its website all of a sudden. The most well-known ones for Iranians are the Australia Medical Council test and the Oman Ministry of Health test. And the PTE language test

News: A British institute called “Pearson,” which is the organizer of the English language test “PTE” and the AMC test (Australia’s Medical Council), announced in a statement that due to new U.S. sanctions against Iran, it will cancel the tests for applicants residing in Iran.

Earlier, on 7 Shahrivar 1405, other test organizers of foreign language proficiency exams, including Duolingo and TOEFL, had announced that these tests would no longer be held in Iran.

In a notice about the cancellation of the PTE exam, Pearson said: “Following the suspension of ‘General License G’ by the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) in the U.S. Department of the Treasury, from 12:00 a.m. on September 8, 2026 Eastern Time, until further notice, we will not be able to schedule or administer exams for applicants residing in Iran, unless they can provide documentation proving their primary residence outside Iran.”

The notice added: “The exams currently scheduled for applicants subject to this restriction will be canceled. We apologize for the inconvenience this issue has caused them.”

The fate of a large number of students who intend to migrate in order to continue their studies in European countries, the United States, North America, and Australia will be affected by these actions.
