🔶 Pezeshkian: If the US returns to the Islamabad agreement, Iran will act correspondingly

Masoud Pezeshkian, president of the Islamic Republic of Iran, accused the United States of “excessiveness” and “breach of commitments,” saying that if the United States returns to its obligations in the Islamabad agreement, the Islamic Republic will “immediately take reciprocal action.”

Pezeshkian, in remarks at a speech at a Shanghai summit of heads of state in Bishkek, the capital of Kyrgyzstan, said: “The United States’ commitment to a document that was signed by the president of that country beneath it lasted for less than two weeks, and its excessiveness and its breach of its commitments began, which continues to this day. It is clear that the violation of the United States’ commitments was met with a proportionate response from Iran.”

Pezeshkian claimed that Iran has a “brilliant track record” in carrying out its international commitments and has “always acted in accordance with the principles governing international law.”
