PezeShkian: There are groups inside the United States that see their interests in the continuation of the war
The president, in a meeting with India’s prime minister: Iran has never welcomed war; our responsibility requires that we keep people away from danger and insecurity and create the conditions for them to achieve peace, calm, and security.
Iran has adhered to the commitments it accepted within the framework of the agreements, but unfortunately the American side has not acted on its commitments. Nevertheless, we continue to try to realize the path of agreement and understanding, and we believe that the continuation of the war is not to our benefit, not for the region, and not in line with humanity’s interests.
Reason and logic dictate that we avoid war and war-mongering; unfortunately, there are groups inside the United States whose interests lie in the continuation of the war and who want the fighting to continue. However, we believe that we must move along the path of peace, stability, and security by strengthening peace-seeking will.
Prime Minister of India: I agree with you that some see their interests in war, but we must redouble our efforts to establish peace. My belief and conviction is that in the end, peace and security will prevail.
Transportation and maritime cooperation, developments related to the Strait of Hormuz, as well as the cooperation process in the port of Chabahar, were among the main issues discussed by the two sides in this meeting.
