Politico reported that Mike Rogers, the Republican candidate for the U.S. Senate from the state of Michigan, said on Monday: “The war with Iran must end so that prices go down.”

According to Politico, in a video he posted on social media, he said that the war with Tehran should end as quickly as possible and added: “Michigan families can’t wait.”

Rogers added: “What we can do right now is temporarily stop diesel exports. U.S. energy should first help American families.”

Earlier on Monday, Ashley Hinson, the Republican representative and Senate election candidate from the state of Iowa, had also expressed concern about the impact of the war in Iran on the cost of living in the state.

Based on this report, Rogers and Hinson called for a suspension of state and federal taxes on fuel.
