Prince Reza Pahlavi, in a message, described the Islamic Republic’s efforts to approve and implement the Caspian Sea legal status convention as a serious threat to Iran’s interests.

Navid Mohbi, a political analyst, said the message from Prince Reza Pahlavi is that the rights of the Iranian people are not the personal property of the Islamic Republic that it can trade away to win Russia’s approval or to secure its own interests; rather, the Caspian is part of Iran’s national sovereignty.
