Progressive state representative Angie Nixon has won the Democratic nomination for a special election to the U.S. Senate in Florida. Nixon defeated retired U.S. Army lieutenant colonel Alex Vindman; Vindman was a former National Security Council official who testified in 2019 in the first impeachment case against President Donald Trump.
