🔶 Qarqash: The region cannot remain indefinitely in a state between war and peace

Anwar Gargash, an adviser to the UAE president, warned that the Middle East region "cannot remain indefinitely in a situation between war and peace".

He wrote on X on Tuesday, 11 August (20 Mordad): "Regional stability and the future of its people require clarity in vision and path."

Qaraqash, however, stressed: "The next phase should not be built on shaky foundations or arrangements separate from international law, the principles of peaceful coexistence, respect for sovereignty, and the logic of peace."

The senior Emirati official said the goal is "a transition to lasting stability based on clear rules agreed by all".

Qaraqash’s remarks come as hopes of reaching an agreement between the United States and Iran to reduce tensions and reopen the Strait of Hormuz have dwindled, and there are many uncertainties about how much diplomatic progress has been made toward ending the conflict and reaching a lasting agreement between the parties.
