🔶 Qeshm governor: Following an attack on an Iranian ship, one person was killed and three others were injured

Iranian government media, citing the Qeshm governor, reported that an Iranian commercial vessel early Sunday, September 13 (22 Khordad), was targeted in waters near the island, after which “one person was killed and three others were injured.”

Amir Taimouri said in this regard that “the ship was hit at around 5:00 a.m. within the area between the Hengam Island and the shore of Shebderaz in the south of Qeshm Island.”

He did not give further details about the name and type of the vessel, nor about the type of projectile that struck it.

The news of an attack on a commercial ship off the shores of Qeshm is being announced while early this morning the United Kingdom Maritime Trade Operations Center published a post on the X network (formerly Twitter) saying it had received a report which, according to it, an unknown projectile hit a vessel while it was transiting the Strait of Hormuz.

It is not yet clear whether the report from this body and the incident announced by the Qeshm governor are related to each other or not.
