RIA Novosti reported that Alexey Likhachev, CEO of the state-run Rosatom, at the sidelines of the BRICS summit in New Delhi, said that so far 47 specialists from this company have returned to the Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran and the number is expected to increase to 150.

He said that Rosatom specialists will start scheduled maintenance and repair work for replacing fuel assemblies at the operating Bushehr nuclear power plant in Iran starting from mid-September.

According to Likhachev, nuclear fuel for replacing part of the fuel assemblies has been delivered to the Bushehr nuclear power plant.

He said that Rosatom’s specialists, in addition to building the second and third units of the Bushehr nuclear power plant, have also begun scheduled repairs for the plant’s first unit.
