Salvation Behrami, a political analyst, said that the set of statements by U.S. officials and developments on the ground show that Washington may, by increasing military pressure, push the Islamic Republic to accept an agreement. He added that, according to him, the experience of months of negotiations has produced no result, and now military pressure is one of the options facing the United States.

Behrami also said that, in his view, if the war is prolonged, the Islamic Republic will not be able to continue it. By referring to the positions of Mohammad Bagher Qalibaf, he considered these remarks a sign of concern by part of the ruling establishment about continuing the war, and said that the final decision on the course of war or negotiations will be made by the more powerful faction within the Islamic Republic.
