Sources familiar with Iran International said Hossein Paderan, an information technology activist who was recently executed, was kept for months in solitary confinement during his detention and was forced under pressure and torture to make confessions against himself.

Paderan, born on Tir 5, 1364, was married and the father of two children aged 15 and 11. He was arrested in Tir 1404 and executed on Shahrivar 28, 1405 at Isfahan Central Prison in Dastgerd.

An informed source told Iran International that during the arrest at his home, plainclothes agents confiscated Paderan’s personal and work belongings, as well as his electronic equipment and that of his family members.

According to him, after his arrest, Paderan was held for months in solitary confinement and in detention facilities of security institutions, and was subjected to severe physical and psychological pressures.

The source added that the prolonged holding of Paderan in dark environments and his deprivation of sunlight caused injuries and wounds to his toes, and that the interrogators, by applying pressure and threats to him and his wife, forced this political prisoner to confess against himself.
