A Taliban spokesperson said that Afghanistan wants to continue dialogue and cooperation with Pakistan and hopes that unresolved differences between the two countries will be resolved through dialogue.
Zabiullah Mujahid, in an interview with Al Arabiya, said: “Saudi Arabia can play a positive role in this regard.”
Mujahid, in the same interview, warned about Pakistan’s military operations inside Afghanistan.
He said: “If Pakistan violates the sovereignty and sanctity of Afghanistan’s territory, Afghanistan has the right to defend its country, and we will do that.” Mujahid said there would be a “decisive response” to any violation of Afghanistan’s sovereignty.
Mujahid’s remarks were made in response to the previous remarks by the spokesperson of the Pakistani army to this same network.
Ahmad Sharif Choudry had said that Afghanistan’s territory is used to attract, train, arm, and carry out terrorist attacks against Pakistan and other parts of the region.
